A Testimonial About Volunteering at the Lower Currituck Food Pantry
The food drop is such a wonderful way to do God’s work. There are so many people in our county who need help. Giving them free food is one way we can help them. They are so thankful when they are given assistance. They have to give up a certain amount of pride to stand in those lines and wait. My heart goes out to them.
These are people from varied walks of life. Sometimes they bring their little ones with them. One woman last summer had just gotten out of the hospital and was hurting so bad she was unable to continue standing in the line. We made sure she got her share of food. These people wouldn’t be there if they didn’t need food for their families. They look you right in the eye and thank you for being there for them. It feels so good to do God’s work. You know we are to be His hands and feet here on Earth. What better way than to help His children in need? There but for the grace of God go I.
